Abstract Statement

My collection is inspired by the Women’s & Young Women’s S/S 20 Empower Up! Get Trippy trend. For the past 3 years I’ve traveled around the country year round attending numerous different music festivals. My vision for my collection focuses on the reawakening of music festival fashion reflecting on the new age of festival music as well as the free-spirited feelings of 2018 and years to come. I’m not talking mainstream music festivals like Coachella, EDC, and Ultra that has mainly light and bubbly music. I mean underground festivals like Okeechobee, The Untz Music Festival, Infrasound Music Festival, and Burning Man where the music that is played is mainly dubstep and other similar genres. There is a lot of different fashion that you will see at these festivals that people won’t see unless they attend one. My collection is more inspired by the underground music festivals, a reawakening for psychedelic patterns that have so much going on you have to adjust your eyes to keep looking at it. The women that attend these underground festivals are mainly there for the music and the fashion is an accessory. These clothes in my collection are meant to be functional so women are able to look good while being able to freely dance to music.
